8000i Argosy Frozen Yogurt Machines
Argosy Model 8000i – Two-Flavor, Free-Standing Soft Serve Machine

Smaller Footprint
Soft serve is not just for ice cream shops. More and more restaurants, convenience stores and retail locations are offering soft serve desserts to their customers. For these businesses, every square inch needs to maximize revenue because of a finite amount of space. For this reason, we designed our machines to have a smaller footprint.
Energy Efficient
Energy consumption has always been an important issue, but nowadays it is an essential component to equipment selection. Not only do operators have an environmental responsibility, but they also have a fiscal responsibility to reduce operational costs. For this reason, we designed our machines to be more energy-efficient.
Larger Capacity
A soft serve machine needs to have the ability to handle summer, peak-hour rushes. The volume of ready-to-serve product determines how long people have to wait in line. For this reason, we designed our machines to have larger freezing cylinders.
Easy to Operate
Employees of a foodservice establishment spend a good deal of time with any soft serve machine. Machines are cleaned several times a month and also go through a number of maintenance procedures. For this reason, we designed our machines to have the Smart Touch Control, a visual, touchscreen, LCD control panel.SPECS

The Argosy 8000i is the first soft serve machine in the industry to implement an LCD touch screen control panel, finally giving operators full control over product taste and texture. Other manufacturers design their machines to have controls behind the side panels which is inconvenient and expensive (if a technician is the one servicing the machine). The 8000i’s Smart Touch Control (STC) commands the entire system on the face of the machine and gives all of the functionality to the operator.
The STC not only gives full machine control to the user, but it also monitors all aspects of the machine. From amps and volts to temperature readings and pulls, the STC adjusts all aspects of the machine in an all-in-one dashboard.
The STC has also been designed with functionality in mind. Rather than blinking LED lights, the 8000i has been upgraded using larger visual icons which allow the operator to see the status of the machine even from a distance.
Quad-Zone Temperature Control
Few soft serve machines are able to completely control the temperature of the product. Within a two-flavored machine there are actually four different chambers; two refrigerated hoppers and two freezing cylinders. It is important to be able to accurately control the temperature of each chamber for different mix types. When introducing ice cream or frozen yogurt mix that has more ingredients, the freezing and refrigeration temperature of the product is affected.
The 8000i is truly a machine for all types of frozen desserts because of its ability to set and maintain precise temperature levels. With the Quad-Zone Temperature Control, you are able to serve amazing combinations with the perfect temperature, taste, and texture. Imagine the combination of Sea Salt Caramel Frozen Custard with White Peach Italian Ice or Greek Frozen Yogurt with Lemon Burst Sorbet. These complex flavors combinations need a machine that can maintain the product day in and day out, pull after pull.
The scroll compressor has revolutionized other refrigeration applications in foodservice (i.e. frozen carbonated beverages, freezers, display cases, ice machines, and coolers) because of its refrigeration efficiency. While the benefits are numerous, the soft serve industry lagged behind the other foodservice products. That is, until the birth of the 8000i.
The 8000i is the first soft serve machine to implement a scroll, non-reciprocating, compressor into the refrigeration system. The designers and engineers at Argosy wanted to create a machine that was both energy-efficient and operationally efficient. The scroll compressor was an integral part in the efficiency story. Traditional soft serve machine compressors get between 100,000 and 500,000 lifetime cycles. The Argosy machines get over 2,000,000 lifetime cycles. Additionally, when compared to other compressor technologies, the scroll compressor uses 70% fewer moving parts and is 20% more efficient.
Freezing the refrigerated mix to make a soft serve product is the most important process for a soft serve machine. For optimal freezing, the heat transfer properties between the refrigeration system and the freezing cylinder have to be just right. The 8000i is able to deliver the perfect amount of refrigerant required to freeze the product through a proprietary helical design and a patented, Vacuum Furnace Braising (VFB) technology. The VFB technology strengthens the bond between the refrigerant coils and the freezing cylinder walls creating the optimum freezing environment.
