A common question I get from folks who don’t have a van or pick up truck is….”how to I get the cart to and from special events?”
This is a short post because my answer is always, try Lowe’s or Home Depot, or Harbor Freight (www.harborfreight.com). They sell landscaping trailers that can do the job. Ready and legal for the road (not in all states, but in many). See the Harbor Freight, which is the lowest cost optionHERE
Here’s the link to the trailer at Lowe’s
Thanks,
Neil

thank you for the tip.I would like to buy your book and also would like to know when and where are the convention for concession business. thanks Casey
I tried with a trailer…they arent the best thing to use …. too heavy to push it loaded up the ramp and the wheels on the normal cabinets are too small . I invested in a small truck with a tail lift…best thing I ever did.
Thanks for the comment Rosanna. No question about it. If you can afford a pick up truck with a liftgate, that is a great option.
I have this 4′ x 6′ cart from Lowes and it’s perfect for moving my cart. I tow it behind my Mini Cooper which I got a special hitch for.
Great to hear it’s working well for you Ann. Appreciate you taking the time to post!
Neil
The landscape trailer has been my main component to move my carts. I use a 6×10 trailer which allows me to carry four carts. Be safe and anchor each cart with TWO straps. they can break and if the cart breaks loose, there are some serious consequences. Additionally, we place a layer of cardboard on top of the product to protect it from rain and having the temp increase due to different pressure on the cart while cruising down the road. We also use an enclosed trailer that hold two carts. If possible use an enclosed trailer is more efficient, aerodynamic improves gas efficiency.
Bob,
Thanks for posting your advice. I especially agree with your commentary on being safe and making sure you use TWO straps to assure that it is doubly secure. You also want to avoid flying lids. Our Nelson carts come with a locking bar as standard and you always want to make sure that you have that bar secured on the lid to keep it from flying off.
Thanks again for a great post.
Neil

Hi Bob
Just curious – what size carts are you loading onto the 6 x 10 trailer?
